LOS ANGELES, USA — The United States scored its first goal of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, igniting celebrations among home fans as the tournament co-hosts opened their campaign with an impressive victory over Paraguay.

The breakthrough goal arrived early in the match when Paraguay defender Damián Bobadilla inadvertently turned the ball into his own net under pressure from the American attack, handing the United States a dream start in front of a packed crowd in Los Angeles.
